Valle Crucis NC,
the park is a scenic area with a paved track for
walking and biking. Also in Valle Crucis is
Watauga River Road; this road is a nice flat
road that runs alongside the Watauga River,
creating picturesque stretches of Boone Biking. Each
year, the infamous NC Mountain Biking race Blood,
Seat and Gears begins in the town of Valle
Crucis and takes riders on a 21 mile trek on the
Blue Ridge Parkway. Also, just outside of Boone,
near the little community of Todd NC is renowned Mountain Biking
NC road, Railroad Grade Road.
This flat, one lane road follows along the banks
of the New River and is a really nice
picturesque road to ride. Several shops and
general stores in the area offer bike rentals
for those that did not bring their own.
