Winter Fun
 Is
skiing and snowboarding a little too extreme for

activity to extreme winter sports like skiing
and snowboarding. Riders sit inside a donut
inner tube or lie flat across on their
stomach and rocket down the NC Snowtubing lanes. Most tubing areas near Boone
North Carolina also have a tubing tow rope or
magic carpet ride that takes the visitor
and the tube safely back to the top of the
tubing run. This "ride" is a great thing as hiking back
to the top of the snowy runs can be a bit
difficult. Ski Beech Ski Resort and Sugar Resort
in NC are two North Carolina Ski Slopes that
offer tubing in addition to skating, skiing, and
snowboarding; however, the area’s largest and
best area to go Snow Tubing in North Carolina is
at the former Hawksnest Ski Resort.
Historically, Hawksnest was a local favorite for
skiing and boarding as they offered great rates
and night skiing. In recent years, the resort
suspended their ski operations and focused
entirely on creating the largest and best place
for snow tubing in the Southeast! The result? A
gigantic Snow Tubing in NC park filled with four
NC Snowtubing areas, each area offering more than
4 tubing lanes. Some NC Snowtubing lanes have a
gradual grade so you can maintain a safe,
steady, speed, while others have a steep grade
creating some fast paced tubing!
